The SteelSeries Arctis 5 is a virtual 7.1 surround headset compatible with many devices, including PCs, consoles and mobile phones. Virtual 7.1 surround sound requires a USB-A sound card and only works on PC, so console and mobile users need to use a 3.5mm cable and be content with stereo sound.

SteelSeries helmets have a simple design, and the Arctis 5 is no different with large plastic ear cups that feature an oval light strip. There’s a Discord-certified retractable microphone built into the left ear cup, and it also houses the volume wheel and mute button. To get the most out of this headset, PC users should install the SteelSeries Engine 3 app, which enables several advanced sound profiles and settings.

The Endgame Gear XM1 is a lightweight mouse designed for competitive gaming. Instead of having a honeycomb exterior like many lightweight rivals, it has a conventional look and still weighs 70 grams. One of the ways to achieve its light weight is to have a basic five button design. The XM1 only has the usual left and right click buttons with two side buttons on the left side and a scroll wheel.

Despite its basic design, the XM1 has high quality components. It has a Pixart PMW3389 sensor that goes up to 16,000 CPI. Omron switches are responsive and have an estimated lifespan of around 50 million clicks.

Many professionals use Keyless Keyboards (TKLs) for their compact size and mechanical switches. Razer’s Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL goes one step further by including optical switches. Optical switches have fewer moving parts than mechanical switches and are actuated by a light beam passing through them when the button is pressed. The main advantages of optical switches are faster response times and longer life compared to conventional mechanical switches.

Besides the innovative switches, the Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL has exceptional build quality. It features a sturdy aluminum top plate and a detachable USB-C cable. The keys are made of double injection PBT plastic, which is fade resistant and has better durability than ABS plastic.
