Film and TV star Henry Cavill caused a stir with a five-minute video recapping his PC assembly adventures.

Assembling your own PC isn’t much different from putting together a construction toy – follow the instructions carefully, keep your fingers safe, and you should be fine.

Yet, as Cavill himself demonstrates, there will more than likely be a bit of a headache no matter what the financial outlay. If in doubt, it is better to take a break and come back rested the next day.

Cavill scrambled the branding information at the start of his DIY PC reel, but his Instagram video suggests the “Superman” star is using an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard as the base ($ 599 P29,500), on top of which is placed an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core chip ($ 499 / P24 600) as the central processing unit of the system. Temperature regulation for this is provided by an NZXT Kraken Z73 all-in-one liquid cooler ($ 279 / P13,700).

While the Ryzen 9 already contains a capable integrated graphics chip, like many avid gamers, Cavill went with a dedicated card, in this case the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Ti OC ($ 1,199 / P59,100).

For storage, there’s a pair of Samsung 970 Pro 1 terabyte NVMe M2 SSDs ($ 349 / P17,200 each), while operating memory comes from a pair of G-Skill TridentZ RGB DDR4-2133 keys from 16 gigabytes ($ 99 / P4,800).

The power supply for the setup is a Seasonic 80 PLUS certified Prime Series power supply, possibly the Prime TX 650w, 750w, 850w, or 1000w, or the 1300w Prime Platinum ($ 299 / 14,700P to $ 529 / 26,100P) ; the whole thing is housed in a Fractal Design Define 7 case with a tempered glass side ($ 169 / $ 8,300), connected to an ROG monitor screen ($ 1,099 / $ 54,200 for a 43-inch 4K display) and controlled via one of Razer’s reprogrammable BlackWidow Elite backlit mechanical keyboards ($ 129 / 6,300P).

High-precision mice can cost anywhere from $ 49 (2,400P) to $ 149 (7,300P), with wired equivalents typically offering lower response times and price, while PC-compatible gamepads range from 59 $ (2,900) to $ 169 (P8, 300), depending on specification.

While it is more than equal to the requirements of “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” (a membership beta started this week) and “Cyberpunk 2077” (November 19, 2020), expect the full cost This powerful version’s current exceeds at around $ 4,500 (P222,000), notwithstanding sales agreements. I will stick with my current version for a bit longer. RGA
